Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is a procedure that enhances the size and shape of the breast with the use of implants. The purpose of the implants is to add fullness to a woman’s breast, which may have been lost due to breast-feeding, pregnancy, aging, or weight loss.
Breast augmentation can also be used to balance breast asymmetries. While slight breast asymmetries are normal, more sizable breast asymmetries can be improved through this procedure to create a more proportional look.
Dr Herron is experienced with using both silicone and saline implants, in breast augmentation procedures. The implants may be placed under the muscle and breast tissue or just under the breast tissue itself. This procedure is sometimes combined with a breast lift (mastopexy) when the nipple needs to be lifted.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is a procedure that removes excess breast tissue, tightens the skin, reduces the nipple areola complex and raises it up to a more desired position.
Patients that suffer from back pain, shoulder grooving from bra straps, neck pain, and rashes underneath their breasts are good candidates for a breast reduction. Due to the improvement in physical health many patients experience, insurance companies will often cover a breast reduction surgery.
There are various types of incision approaches used to reduce the size of the breast. You and Dr Herron can discuss which one is best for you.
Breast Lift
Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a procedure that tightens the skin of the breast and raises the nipple, giving the breast a more youthful appearance. Many factors contribute to a loss of volume or fullness in the breast and sagging of the nipple, including age, gravity, pregnancy, breast feeding and weight gain or loss.
Breast lifts are also good for patients who are happy with the size of their breast but not the position or the shape of the breast. Some patients will need both an augmentation and a breast lift to give the patient the desired shape to their breast.
Dr. Herron is pleased to help educate and guide patients regarding the procedures that may be of the most benefit.
Face Lift
A face lift involves tightening and lifting the skin on the face to give the face a more natural, rejuvenated appearance. With a facelift, a plastic surgeon aims to redefine the midface (nasolabial folds), the jaw line (eliminate jowling) and improve the neck of the patient. The procedure involves redraping the skin and possibly the fascial layer below the skin in the region of the cheek, jaw and/or the neck region.
Patients that would benefit from a face lift are those who have facial wrinkles, sagging skin in the cheek, jaw or neck region. As we age we lose collagen in our skin and this contributes to facial aging and facial wrinkles. Sun exposure also contributes to facial lines. Although a facelift will not stop the effects of aging, it does restore the face to a more youthful appearance.
Dr. Herron has a great eye for facial aesthetics. At this time she performs many non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures that reduce fine lines and lift sagging skin. If Dr. Herron determines that face lift surgery is best for the patient, she will then make a recommendation on the surgeon she trusts for this procedure. Dr Herron will consult with you to determine which one you and she think is the best choice for you.
Eye Lift (Blepharoplasty)
An eye lift or blepharoplasty is a procedure that removes the loose or droopy skin above the upper and lower eyelids as well as improves the contour of the upper and lower eyelids by removing or redistributing the fat in those regions.
Candidates for an eye lift include patients who have droopy eyelids and or puffy eyes. These patients may or may not have their vision affected from the heavy eyelids.
The procedure itself involves removing baggy skin, possibly muscle and possibly fat from the eyelid. An eye lift will not correct low eyebrows and could potentially worsen them therefore a separate procedure may be warranted for certain patients.
Dr Herron can evaluate you and you both can decide what is best for you.
Forehead/Brow Lift
A brow lift is a procedure that elevates the eyebrows to a more aesthetic position. The procedure involves an incision either in the hairline or hair itself, lifting up the brows from the undersurface of the skin, and then removing the excess tissue.
Candidates that would benefit from a brow lift are typically those whose brows are below the brow bone, either because of the aging process or genetics.
A complementary procedure can be done in accordance with a brow lift to remove the muscles that cause us to frown between our eyebrows. These are the muscles that Botox paralyzes temporarily. Sometimes performing a brow lift alone does not correct the tired look and an eye lift may also be necessary.
Dr Herron can evaluate your face and give you the best option to restore your eye region to a more natural rejuvenated appearance.
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Abdominoplasty is a procedure which removes the excess or loose abdominal skin/fat from the overlying muscle.
Pregnancy, weight loss, and previous surgery, are typical factors that contribute to loose skin in the abdominal region.
The procedure removes the loose skin/fat on the abdominal region, tightens the skin on the abdomen, and can also involve tightening up of the rectus muscles which may have spread or separated with pregnancy or weight loss.
Some patients may be candidates for a mini-abdominoplasty.
Body Contouring
Body contouring is an all-encompassing term for liposuction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), brachioplasty (arm lift), and lower body lift.
Candidates for these procedures may have lost weight and have loose skin that hangs. This combination of procedures is done to remove excess skin and fat on the various parts of the body.
Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess tissue from the labia, either for cosmetic reasons or for women who feel physical discomfort due to enlarged or elongated labia. The term labiaplasty refers to a procedure that reduces the length of the labia minora. It is the most commonly performed female genital plastic surgery procedure. Labiaplasty typically results in shorter labia that no longer hang down below the level of the hair-bearing labia majora. Most patients who experienced symptoms from twisting and tugging of their labia generally find relief after surgery. According to multiple studies, labiaplasty surgery is associated with a high satisfaction rate of over 90 percent. As a mother and woman, Dr. Herron is very happy to help women with this surgical procedure. This procedure is considered cosmetic and will not be covered by your insurance. Please contact our office to set up a very private and complimentary consultation with Dr. Herron for this procedure.
Scar Revision
A scar revision is a procedure that is usually performed when a scar has been present for at least one year, as this is the approximate time it takes for the scar to mature. It involves assessing the scar and determining how to best improve the aesthetic appearance of the scar.
Candidates for a scar revision are patients who are unhappy with the appearance of a scar from trauma, sun exposure, or past surgeries.
Scar revision can be done in the office with local anesthetic.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure that removes fat from discrete areas of the body. Liposuction works best in specific areas of fatty deposits that proper diet and exercise has not been able to eliminate.
Patients that have lost a great deal of weight are generally candidates for a body lift and not liposuction alone, as liposuction is performed on discrete areas of fatty deposits and it does not eliminate the loose skin.
Candidates for liposuction are healthy with good elasticity to their skin. Women typically have liposuction on the abdomen, thighs, hips and knees; men typically have liposuction on their love handles, abdomen and enlarged breasts (gynecomastia).
Male Breast Reduction
Gynecomastia, or male breast enlargement, is a condition that science is still exploring. While the cause is not yet known, it has been attributed in some situations to hormonal imbalance, and in some cases chronic diseases. It is more common in adolescence.
A male breast reduction usually involves removing breast tissue, skin and possibly reducing and raising the nipple areola complex. This is typically done with liposuction and direct excision of the breast tissue. However, it is possible to use liposuction alone in some cases to reduce the male breast.
Dr. Herron will consult with you to determine the best approach for you.

Botulism toxin is a chemical that is injected into the forehead, around the eyes, mouth, and between the eyebrows to paralyze those muscles which cause wrinkling of the skin.
It usually lasts about 3 months, however in some patients it can last longer *. Dr Herron does in office Botox® injections herself.

Fillers
Fillers are substances that are injected into the skin to plump it, thereby decreasing the appearance of wrinkles.

Kybella
Kybella is used to remove excess fat from under the chin that often is referenced to the double chin. The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, it destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.
PRFM
PRFM Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) is derived from a small sample of blood at the patient point of care. Commonly known (platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is converted to PRFM through a controlled process, creating a scaffold that serves to protect and preserve platelets. Think of PRFM as the next generation PRP. PRFM is a treatment to stimulate collagen growth. This treatment consists of withdrawing a patient’s own blood, processing it so that only the enriched cells remain, and injecting it into the area that is being treated. PRFM helps with regeneration of new and healthy skin tissue for gradual, natural results. This can be used to improve healing, hair loss, or under eye rejuvenation.
